The transition to college can be challenging for both you and your student. Here are a few ideas that might help:

If you’re looking for clues about how your student will manage the transition to college, look at how they managed transitions before. What happened when you first dropped them off at kindergarten? Did your student have a tough time saying goodbye or did they dive headfirst into new experiences? Sit down with your student and talk through their expectations.

Your support and guidance are important. Follow the lead of your student and allow them to tell you how you can be most helpful. Some students will want a lot of contact. They may have questions or may want to share with you all of the exciting experiences...
