As you journey through your first year here at Princeton you will have questions and will need help. Not to fear! You can always turn to your Residential College support system to assist you through any concerns, answer your questions, or provide you with any other assistance you may need. You will staff and peer advisors that are connected with various offices on campus and that are also available to support you. In the college office you will find academic resources (the dean, director of studies, faculty advisers, and peer academic advisers), and a staff member dedicated to support your health and well being (director of student life). Your Director of Student Life (DSL) is responsible for supporting and enhancing the undergraduate residential and extracurricular experience for you! The DSLs are liasions to a variety of offices across campus that are dedicated to helping your first year at Princeton be as smooth as possible. However, we know sometimes there are bumps along the ways, which is why this support structure is here. In July, when you find out which Residential College you will be assigned to during your time here at Princeton, go online and check out the staff. Then during your first few days here, stop by and say hello, the College Staff will be delighted to meet you!

In addition, DSLs supervise the Residential College Advisers (RCAs) and advise the College Council. RCAs share responsibility for advising first- and second-year students on many aspects of University life. RCAs initiate a variety of activities, facilitate friendships among new students, support students during the transition to college, and refer their advisees (zees) to resources and offices as needed. The College Council at each of the colleges is responsible for planning weekly study breaks, trips, social events, intramurals, and much more. Council members also design all of the college gear that helps represent college pride!

The residential college support system is designed to ensure that you have access to support, advising, and a connection to additional resources in order to thrive during your time here!
