Greetings and welcome to Princeton!

Dear Families of the Class of 2021:

Greetings and welcome to Princeton!

I recently wrote to your students to encourage them to become members of the dynamic, diverse and inclusive Princeton Community. I hope that each student will make the most of their education and participate actively in the Princeton community. There are countless ways to be involved at Princeton. We are here to support students as they navigate these choices and encounter the inevitable successes and challenges of college life. To learn more about the student experience, let me suggest that you bookmark and regularly view the Path to Princeton web portal (http://path.princeton.edu) this summer. This dynamic portal is packed with content, and provides helpful contact information (http://path.princeton.edu/contacts) should any questions arise in the coming months.

In addition to the resources on the Path to Princeton portal, you will receive information from a variety of offices this summer. I hope that you will pay especially close attention to the August letter from Dean of Undergraduate Students, Kathleen Deignan and Executive Director of University Health Services, Dr. John Kolligian, which will ask you to have conversations with your student about several important health and safety topics. Despite what we sometimes feel as parents, research tells us that college students do still listen to their parents!

Details about orientation will become available in July on the Path to Princeton portal. Orientation will allow students to meet their classmates, engage in thoughtful discussion with residential college advisers, and learn about the many resources available to help them optimize their Princeton experience. Please encourage your student to take full advantage of orientation, to reach out to new people, to serve our surrounding communities, and to participate in everything we have to offer!

Sincerely,

W. Rochelle Calhoun
